Afternoon Itinerary
For those guests who are looking to sleep in and relax in the morning, but still want to make the most of their D.C. vacation and experience the events near Georgetown, this afternoon half day itinerary is the perfect guide to exploring the city after the sun goes down.
3:00pm - Now that you are well rested from the morning it is time to getting going. Figure out what sights you want to see the most and spend the afternoon visiting your top picks. Some recommended locations include: Arlington National Cemetery - visit JFK's eternal flame, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the graves of many American heroes and the Old Post Office Pavilion originally built in 1899 it is home to 315 foot Clock Tower which gives a 360 degrees view of D.C. along with shops and dining. Or check out the events near Georgetown. There is always something going on.
6:00pm - Dinner Time; The choices are endless when it comes to what you can pick for dinner, it makes no difference what you are in the mood for. If you can't decide check out Blues Alley, Piratz Tavern, Local 16, Zed's Ethiopian Cuisine, Aditi. Ask the hotel concierge for help.
7:30pm - Monuments by Moonlight Tour: Travel around our nation's capital by trolley for 2-½ hours as the city begins to wind down and see the city and sites in a new light. On the moonlit tour the trolley will make stops at Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, Korean War, Iwo Jima, and FDR Memorials and pass the Capitol Building, the White House and more.
10:00pm - Return to the hotel, freshen up, change your clothes. But the night does not stop here....
11:00pm - Night out on the town: Washington D.C. is keeping their doors open late for you and there are plenty of places to enjoy the night. Definitely worth checking out Dupont Circle (less ½ a mile from the hotel). Other places to mention include 18th Street Lounge, The Republic, Black Cat, Nightclub 9:30, and Larry's Lounge.
